Broad Ripple Village is a fusion of old and new, commercial and creative – a vibrant center of restaurants, shops, breweries, local craft beer bars, and nighttime hotspots, surrounded by long-established neighborhoods and shaped by nearby parks, the Central Canal and the winding White River. Broad Ripple Village is one of six Indianapolis Cultural Districts, the only district located outside of downtown.

The Broad Ripple Brewpub was established in 1990 by Englishman John Hill, born in Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, and his wife Nancy, a Hoosier native. It is Indiana’s very first brewpub (a restaurant that brews its own beer) and the oldest operating brewery in the state. The Brewpub was designed to recreate a typical English pub with its dark wood paneling, decorative tin ceiling, and cozy fire place. The Brewpub has one of the largest outdoor cafes in the Village, seating up to seventy people.

We’re a neighborhood beer bar with a coffee shop feel, complete with comfy chairs and free Wi-Fi. It’s a homey vibe, a place for good conversation over a new brew in the SoBro neighborhood in Indianapolis. Meet your friends just to catch up, enjoy live music or Vinyl Night, or use our space to show off your incredible Jenga and Trivial Pursuit skills. We have just about every board game you can think of, but feel free to bring your own. The Indy Tasting Room is a great place to relax, so we keep the entertainment light and casual. Acoustic music is a mainstay, and we throw in special tasting events now and then too. We even have a small patio in the back.
